Buggery

There is a growing outrage across Jamaica following a disturbing incident in which a 13 year old girl was allegedly buggered by five men in a St Ann community (http://www.loopjamaica.com/content/5-young-men-custody-after-sexual-assault-13-y-o-girl-st-ann). Buggery also called sodomy is defined as anal intercourse between two males or between a male and a female. This is a criminal offense. This is a criminal offense. The legal definition also includes bestialityor intercourse with an animal. Buggery is considered unnatural sex. The victim may experience developmental delays, behavioural and long term emotional disturbances, injury and commit suicide. Efforts should be made to protect the child under the law.
Men who commit the act of buggery could be considered psychopaths. They are callous, selfish and aggressive towards humans and animals. By carefully plotting and executing their intent the perpetrators fail to recognize or care about other's distress. Most perpetrators usually do not have genuine emotional attachments. Some may have experienced trauma and child abuse or learned the behaviour as a symbol of gang affiliation and activity.
