Since the pandemic many schools have turned to online learning as a means of engaging their students. “Online learning” refers to instructional environments maintained by the Internet. Online learning encompasses various software/programs that use the Internet and affords access to instructional materials as well as enable contact among teachers and students. Online learning can be fully online or blended with face-to-face interactions.
Online learning has become popular because of its apparent potential to afford more flexible access to content and instruction. It has become the “new norm” for many societies due to the pandemic and as a result of such many students are still having challenges in adapting to the online learning culture. The dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases caused parents and governments to rethink the decision of sending children to school. The online platform is new to a number of students and educators which leave the education system in calamity as both find their way through. Some parents have now become their child’s tutor while a number of children have to resort to independent learning, and educators are faced with students not having the resources to come online for classes. What a chaos!
